Saint Jacques-sur-mer is a map intended to be a parodic reflection of Marseille in a game concept with "Stardew Valley" as its main reference. With limited time available, the aim was to create a level with a small series of quests that could be completed in 20 minutes. Communication with our level artist was paramount to achieve an architecture that respected the theme while facilitating navigation between neighborhoods.
- Sympathy: A colorful neighborhood with NPCs full of good intentions. (most of them)
- Independent world: Lots of NPCs wandering around, minding their own business.
- Mystery: Lots of interactive elements, secrets and hidden conversations.
- Curiosity: Socialize with NPCs and learn their stories to discover new recipes, ingredients, tools or key objects.
- Scope : 1 Producer Junior, 1 Tech Designer Junior, 1 Concept Artist Junior, 1 Narrative Designer Junior, 1 Character Artist Junior, 1 UX Designer Junior , 1 Environnement Artist Junior, 1 Level Artist Junior, 1 Level Designer Junior
- Constraints: The level must last between 15 and 25 minutes, and must reward the player's curiosity. The level must introduce the player to the dialogue system and quests.
- Objectives: Strike a balance between a faithful reproduction of Marseille and architecture that encourages navigation.
