After Cuistory was selected as our end-of-study project, our intentions remained the same, albeit with a few new features. We proposed a larger, less square exterior map, a more developed beach side and also an interior map. I was in charge of the exterior map, and the idea was to succeed in mixing architectures from different cities on the Mediterranean coast in a coherent way to obtain a coherent and atypical architecture. We deliberately ensured that the main quest didn't take players to every corner of the city, so that they could discover certain secrets and side quests on their own. The aim of this maneuver is to get players to enjoy exploring the map on their own, by rewarding them with new recipes, secret ingredients and reputation gains with other non-player characters.
Level Intentions
- Sympathy: A colorful neighborhood with NPCs full of good intentions. (most of them)
- Independent world: Lots of NPCs wandering around, minding their own business.
- Mystery: Lots of interactive elements, secrets and hidden conversations.
- Curiosity: Socialize with NPCs and learn their stories to discover new recipes, ingredients, tools or key objects.
Level Context
- Scope : 1 Producer Junior, 3 Tech Designer Junior, 1 Narrative Designer Junior, 1 System Design Junior, 1 Character Artist Junior, 1 Environnement Artist Junior, 2 Modeling Artist Junior, 1 FX/Tech Artist Junior, 1 Scult Artist Junior, 1 Level Artist Junior, 3 Level Designer Junior.
- Constraints: The level must last between 18 and 22 minutes, and must reward the player's curiosity. The level must introduce the player to the dialogue system and quests.
- Objectives: To combine references to different Mediterranean towns in a coherent way, with architecture that favors navigation.

Walkthrough
The character appears in front of the food truck, can't remember where his grandfather's apartment is, and has to wander around town to find it.
Billy finally finds his grandfather's house, only a policeman prevents him from entering the apartment because an investigation is underway. Dave Sheif, Billy's grandfather, has disappeared. Before Billy leaves, the policeman tells him to stay away from the skatepark, where members of the parsley clan hang out.
Billy goes to the Skatepark and talks to Ashley de coco and Benoit de coco, both members of the parsley clan. Members of the pepper clan have broken Benoit's skateboard and he's in tears. Ashley asks Billy to bring her a toolbox to repair her little brother's skateboard. In exchange, she promises to give Billy a trick to get the policeman to let him into the apartment.
Billy finds the toolbox on the beach next to the rescue hut. He'll have to use the digging mechanic to pick it up.
Billy returns to the Skatepark and gives Ashley de Coco the toolbox. She thanks him and gives him the recipe for bouillabaisse, revealing to Billy that it's Jim Parmesan the policeman's favorite dish. Parmesan has a good fork, so he'll probably just take a bite and take a nap to digest it.
Billy goes to the market to buy the ingredients for the recipe. A shopkeeper catches his eye and offers him the ingredients, as they're unsold and she doesn't want to throw them away.
Billy returns to his food truck and the cooking phase begins. Once the dish is finished, the policeman comes and sits on one of the tables, tasting it as he goes from morning to afternoon. A dialogue ensues with the policeman, who tells Billy that it was probably the best bouillabaisse he's ever had, and ends up falling asleep on a bench, leaving the way clear to explore the apartment.
Billy enters the apartment and, after some investigation, discovers a photo of his grandfather accompanied by a mysterious stranger. As he leaves the apartment, Ashley de Coco calls out to him and asks a favor. A cooking competition is taking place tonight in the church square, and the parsley clan wants Billy to represent them while winning the competition. Billy agrees on condition that Ashley tells him who the stranger in the photo is. Ashley tells him it's Sam Fish, the leader of the parsley clan, who will be present at the contest as a presenter. Billy sets out to win the contest so he can have a chat with Sam Fish.
Billy goes to the church square, where a cinematic sequence starts, followed by a cooking phase. After winning, a dialogue is triggered with Sam Fish, who reveals that he only knew his grandfather very recently, but that he could learn more if he spoke to a friend of his grandfather's who lives in the town center of Saint-Jacques-sur-mer.
